Woody's Place - TWC International Showdown

A quick run down from TWC International Showdown, held at Coventry Skydome, England. Approx 3350 people.

Petey Williams def. Chris Sabin, Jonny Storm and Spud after he hit a sick Canadian destroyer on Sabin, it was the nuts, it looked real painful.

Steve Grey over Mal Sanders in a 'World Of Sport' match, this was old school baby, it was fun but a bit long

Bill Apter came out next to award a Special Achievement Award to Mick Foley, but before Foley could come out, Alex Shane (British Champ, self proclaimed Hardcore Legend judging by this interview aswell) came out to say he was more hardcore than Foley and that he deserved the award. Foley came out and started to cut a promo but was cut off by Shane, Foley got pissed and told him if he didn't get out of the ring he was gonna kikc his ass, so Shane left, Foley and Apter got into a little bit, much cheering later Foley made his way to the back. Alex Shane came through the crowd and low blowed Apter, Foley came back to the ring and told Shane he hadn't heard the last of him tonight.

Samoa Joe over CM Punk, Joe hit the brainbuster thingy, it looked real sick.

Doug Williams, Scorpio and James Tighe over Mitsuharu Misawa, Yoshinari Ogawa and Tiger Emperor, this match was quality, I never really watched Japanese wrestling but that might change now. Tiger Emperor is quality, really technically skilled. Doug Williams pinned Tiger Emperor with a roll through German Suplex, sounds rubbish but it was well good.

Raven over Alex Shane, this was crazy, proper hardcore. Raven smashed Shane all over the arena, at one point he threw Shane off the balcony on to the concrete, which was like a 25ft drop, he might be hardcore after all, he just looks like a gay. Anyway Raven went to swing a chair at Shane but the ref grabbed the chair and Shane booted the chair right into the refs face, this bought in Shane's entourage, which in turn bought out Foley, who cleaned house and did the mandible claw on Shane, he let him go, Raven hit the evenflow ddt and got the pin, counted by Foley.

NWATNA X Division Title Match, Chris Daniels over AJ Styles, this was the match of the night and probably if not definitely the best match ever on British soil. All the big moves were here, mainly in the ending. Daniels hit the angel wings but AJ kicked out, then AJ somehow got Daniels in the Styles clash, but Daniels kicked out, AJ went for a springboard off the ropes but Daniels caught him and hit the last rites for the 3 count.

Overall the best ever show on British soil. I've been to see WWE in England before and seen like 10 matches on a show that lasted three hours, and this had 6 matches and lasted 3 and a half hours and was still 10 times better than WWE.

Incidentally AJ Styles was interviewed earlier in the day at a meet and greet event and said his contract with tna was nearly up, but he won't be signing for WWE becasue he wants to make TNA better than WWE.

Vinny Mac should buy out TNA otherwise on Daniels, Sabin, Williams and AJ's showings tonight they could make TNA bigger than WWE. Actually he shouldnt cause he'd ruin the X Division and all the quality wrestlers they have.
